RedGage Cashout | $25.00 Visa

I clicked cash out at RedGage for $25.00 on Dec. 17 and got my RedGage Visa in today's mail, Dec. 27. So it wasn't a long wait at all! I didn't know what to expect as this is my first cash out from signing up there 4 weeks ago. I got there fast because I was chosen the winner of a daily contest they have. And that in itself is $25.00.

I activated the card today, but will wait a while to use it. Probably try it out this weekend somewhere on some "after Christmas holiday sales!"

I noted a few things about the RedGage Visa while activating it. It is very pretty and stylish and comes with your name on it. But seems it cannot be used at ATMs. Hum. The reason is because you don't get a personalized pin number with this card. Bummer for me because I would rather shop the peddly stores with cash, like at the flea markets, etc. And also, it states you have to use it as "credit" at each store. Not a debit transaction. So if your card is declined, be sure to tell the teller to run it as a credit transaction. You also cannot use it at the gas pumps. It has to be physically taken inside the store to the register.

Not heard of RedGage? RedGage is a website that pays you for your content and monetizes your social activity. As stated on their page. You upload stuff like photos, videos, or even blogs and you earn money on them.

Facebook Fad | 2010 in Status

Are you curious as to what all you said in a status on Facebook in 2010? If so, then join your friends in the lattest Facebook Fad, My Year in Status!

My Year in Status is a kinda a crossover of fad meets application. It's definately a fad becasue many users doing it. But the "it" they are doing is really an application.

Anyways, My Year in Staus is basicaly a super cool application that creates an awesome looking collage of all statuses you wrote in 2010. It's like a status diary! And it is sweeping through Facebook like a storm.

Once you click on the application and it loads your info, it lets you choose from a variety of designs for your collage. It then posts your Year in Statuses as a photo, into an album for safe keeping. It is a really neat way to look back on the previous year and see what you were doing.

I was pleased at first with my results. But then I realized status diary was way shorter than everyone elses. Why? Well, back around August I tried to delete my account. I didn't use it much and was just tired of it. It was then I realized that Facebook just deactivates it and you can return at anytime by entering your email and password. And that is just what I did. I had withdraws sometime after Halloween and returned to Facebook. So my status updates must have gotten erased. Although it is weird that all my other info was still intact. I can still even see my "sent" messages from last year. I wrote to Facebook tech to see if I can get the rest of those lost status updates. I wander if they will ever respond?

Curious of what all my status diary had to say? Here it is:

Lisa "is thinking about visiting ole' farmville today. lol. been forever. but I'm affraid i'll get hooked lol"

"Girls, I think we should all have a birthday week instead of a birth"day"!"

Lisa "waiting on Greg cuz he's takin me to dinner tonight for my bday, a day early! :-)"

Lisa "~*Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes!*~"

Lisa "someone hacked my facebook! so if they sent out anything to anybody it was not me. (except to Cheryl, I did return the e-card today :-)"

Lisa "-*Merry Christmas everyone-*"

Lisa "*Happy New Year*"

Lisa "Greg is sleepin like a baby on the couch..... What should i do to him????? Lol"

There have been numerous Facebook fads in the past such as Doppelganger/Celebrity Look-a-Like, Which Cartoon Character are You?, Urban Dictionary Name, I Like _____ and 25 Random Things. Which one was your favorite?

Plastic Clothes Hangers Hurt!

I was just hanging up clothes in my husbands

closet and had a first ever experience. I was just

hurt "paper cut style" by a plastic clothes hanger.

LOL. I guess not paper cut, but plastic cut. By the

bottom of the plastic hanger, there is a seam, where

the plastic meets and let me tell you, it is sharp!

Have you ever been hurt by a clothes hanger before? lol.

Yum.

Slit Chicken Breasts smothered in brocolli & rice

My husband is home this week due to the snowy weather! YAY for me!! (He's currently outside playing in the snow, making "snow creatures." lol. So I am making dinner, which is odd for me during the week. I usually cook for only me until Saturday and Sunday comes around. And use the work cook lightly. lol. He, on the other hand, eats out day after day. I know for a fact he gets tired of it, so that is one reason we never seem to eat out much when he's at home.

Anyways, I am making some yummy split chicken breasts smothered in rice & brocolli.

What are you having for dinner?

Ummm good!

I Hate AUTO-RENEWALS

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

NO! THANK YOU---For reminding me to turn off Auto-Renew!

What Happened?

Have you ever been in a great mood only to open your email and see an unexpected message like, "Order Confirmation #999999 (Automatic Renewal) Thank You for your Payment!"

And you didn't even mean to send them a payment. But you did so because at some point in time, when you signed up for this product/service you thought it would be a good idea? But turns out it wasn't and you have never even been back to the site since? UGHHH!

I just hate this. And to beat it all off, this is the third one this week that I have gotten like this. I do like to dabble in website design and love to purchase my own domains to play around with. But I, too often like many out there, forget to go and turn off (or uncheck) the auto-renewal option.

That little mistakes costs people like me a lot of money. Even though just three of them this week, that's over $30.00 in auto renewal charges for a product/service that I don't even use. So this is definately a waste of money.

What I Done

I immediately went and logged into my account. I de-activated my auto-renewal choice. And then I took it a step farther. Just to be safe. I then went into my payments information account and de-activated all of my save types of payments, ie: credit card information and PayPal account information.

Need Help? Heres How to Cancel Godaddy's Domain Auto-Renewal

Note: I would like to advise you, as of today, the Auto Renewal feature at Blogger is not working correctly for me. Each time I choose to turn it off (un-checkmark it) I hit save and it immediately re-checks auto-renew again. It is frustrating. I am going to email the customer help. Something is not right. And when I "Googled" my concerns, I also found others having the same problem.

But on GoDaddy, it is very simple and is working. As I just completed the cancelation of auto-renewal of all domains I have there. Simple.

Lesson Learned!

One for your books! So here's a little piece of advice:

TO SAVE MONEY, MAKE SURE YOUR AUTO-RENEWAL AGREEMENTS ARE OFF OR UP TO DATE ON THE WEBSITES YOU USE or USE TO USE. Think hard, as I didn't even remember I had the other two I got charged for this week. lol.

Snow...January 2011

Everything is still covered in the cold white stuff outside today.

I fought the blistering cold to go outside and snap a few pics to share. After viewing them all, I only really like one. lol.

And here it is. Says nothing but "burrrrrr" to me. lol.

Breakfast is the New Dinner

Breakfast is the New Dinner....around my house, that is!

I get a lot of questions from friends asking me what I eat on a regular basis, due to my food allergies. So thought I'd share a few food posts here and there throughout the week. That way you can see even though I am limited to certain foods, a variety of meals can be made. Yummy Meals!

Tonight I had breakfast for dinner. lol. It is a regular occurance here at my house.

On My Plate (1-13-2011):

  • *Batter bread

  • *Turkey bacon

  • *2 eggs (medium)

  • *and syrup on the side

Never heard of batter bread? We eat it all the time. Special post comming soon on just it!

Flour. Isn't it weird?

Flour can be used to make a wide variety of things. Not just food. Isn't that kinda weird?

I mean think about it. Flour can be used to make cookies, gravy, bisquits, cakes, and even wallpaper paste! Yep, I remember years ago, when I was little, my mom boiling or conjouring up some concoction to make a paste in which she rubbed on the back of wallpaper. And it worked. She said her family had always done that.

I just think its neat!

I Called the Phone Company Today

"Hello, how may I help you?" Is what I heard after waiting on the line for 8 minutes for a human! Yep!

Anyways, I called them because I wanted to alter my "package" in order to save money. Being as we never use the long distance that is on our home phone, I thought, hum I could cancel that and save money.

Yea right! After talking and talking to an annoying sounding man, whom seemed to talk through his nose. I learned that if I drop the long distance, our bill will actually go up $6.00 because we will no longer have a "package deal."

Um. Say what?

So I told them to just nevermind and that I will leave it like it is and just be happy. But I did say how that makes no sense at all to have the "package deal" if in the long run it is not saving us any money. Because they are "packaging up" stuff in a bundle that we do not use or need!

OMG, BILL PEOPLE MAKE ME MAD!

And all I was doing was trying to cut a few dollars here and there off of our monthly bills. UGH!

Ebay Sued for $30 Million for Overcharging Fees

Ebay Sued for $30 Million for Overcharging Final Value Fees

eBay is in the news again. But this time it's not for being the world's largest and best online marketplace, it's for overcharging their sellers for "final value fees."

eBay how could you? I've noticed the fee's were climbing, but dang!

The Details

A preliminary ruleing finds that eBay must pay $30 million in damages! The final hearing will take place on March 28, 2011 to determine the fairness of the ruleing in front of Honorable James Ware.

Initial charges were brought against eBay by plaintiffs Yingling and Scott. Yingling and Scott are individuals who are respresenting a vast majority of people, including sellers like you and mem who are known within the lawsuit as "Class Members."

Are You Affected?

Being a "Class Member" has been defined as anyone who paid "Final Value Fees" along with a listing fee in the category of “Parts & Accessories” on the eBay Motors website, in between April 21, 2005, and August 26, 2009. However, if you sold your item through the eBay "Store Inventory Format" you will not be included in this lawsuit.

Check Your Email

More than likely, if you are included in this lawsuit against eBay, you have been notified. Because eBays sales records were pulled and all qualifying salers were sent an email or snail mail package with a notice of the ebaymotorsfeeclassaction. So check your email inbox and spam folder to be sure!

Update Your Info!

You don't have to do anything but update your mailing information to recieve your portion of the settlement, if you qualify that is. You are urged to check & update your mailing address, if necessary at ebaymotorsfeeclassaction. And don't brush it off easy thinking yours is right. I have been a seller for like 8 years and when I checked just now, mine wasn't on file complete. So glad I checked! People who do not do so, or who have "undeliverable/uncashable checks" will have thier portion of the settlement donated to chairties or organizations approved by the court.

To update your info (or to simply check to be safe as I did), simply visit ebaymotorsfeeclassaction and click on the "How to Report a Change of Name or Address" link. There will be instructions on how to do so on the official page. Don't worry, I just updated mine, and it does not ask for personal info such as your eBay or Paypal passwords or such. You also have the option to call them specifically if you do not wish to update it online.

How to Contact Them?

However, if you feel you may qualify and didn't recieve any type of notice, please visit ebaymotorsfeeclassaction or email the Settlement Administrator by email at info@ebaymotorsfeeclassaction.com. You also have an option to call 888-206-2123, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for more info.

Nicole Penix Vanzant | Unsolved Murder

Rest in Peace Nicole Marie Penix Vanzant

Nicole Marie Penix Vanzant, age 27, was last seen alive on January 19, 2009 in Meniffe, KY. Only a 15 minute drive from my home. Her mom drove her to the Dollar General Store, in Frenchburg to meet with her ex-boyfriend. Her mom then went into the store and when she came back out, Nichole was gone. Josh Brown, her ex-boyfriend, admits to picking her up at the store, but says he let her out on the side of the road after they got into an argument.

Four months later her body was found in the Red River Gorge around the Indian Creek Road area, more than forty miles from the Dollar General Store. The death investigation is still unsolved. And no formal charges have been brought against the ex-boyfriend yet. Although he has been named as a "person of interest." Nichole leaves behind many family members including a 5 year old son that want closure to this tragic occurance. I, along with many many more are praying for closure for this unsolved murder.

This really strikes a chord with me being as I live only minutes from where this occured. And I am really heartbroken for the family. I can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through. I want to help keep this in the news so it doesn't just turn to a cold case. Hopefully someday soon, Nicole's murder will be solved and she may rest in peace.

Rest in Peace Nicole Marie Penix Vanzant

Nicole's Song by TGroves21

In the Words of Alan Jackson's "Sissy's Song,":

Why did she have to go
So young I just don't know why
Things happen half the time
Without reason without rhyme
Lovely, sweet young woman
Daughter, wife and mother
Makes no sense to me
I just have to believe

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me

Loved ones she left behind
Just trying to survive
And understand the why
Feeling so lost inside
Anger shot straight at God
Then asking for His love
Empty with disbelief
Just hoping that maybe

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me

It's hard to say goodbye
Her picture in my mind
Will always be of times I'll cherish
And I won't cry 'cause

She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
Don't worry 'bout me
Don`t worry 'bout me

Macaroni & Tomatoes & Cherry Cheese Cupcakes?

YUM!

I made some macaroni & tomatoes this evening. It was just me and myself for dinner, and that's one of my favorite foods, so thought why not make a meal of it.

Note: I prefer the Hunts brand of "whole, peeled, tomatoes." Simply because it seems they are bursting with juice, and I don't like my noodles sooged down with juice before I eat them. lol.

Then I got a message from my sister saying she just made a minature cheesecakes topped with cherries. OMGosh, how i love that. I just make my with silk, instead of milk.

The pic to the right is what she made tonight. Me and her tend to have a "food war" and send pics of our dinners/desserts back and forth. It's a sister thing. lol. I thought it was a cute idea to put them in individual cupcake holders. She has a 1 year old, so its a finger food dessert.

Do you prefer macaroni & maters or macaroni & cheese?

EASY TURKEY CHILI

Turkey Chili

With the freezing temperatures dipping well below freezing, I thought I'd warm things up with some homemade turkey chili.

I make the rest of it the same way as regular chili, except that I substitute the ground beef with ground turkey.

Here's my ingredient list:

  • a large can of tomato juice

  • 1 pound of ground turkey

  • frozen peppers (from a stir fry kit)

  • a whole onion (diced and fried into the turkey meat)

  • 2 cans of chili beans and

  • a can of dark red kidney beans

  • And of course, chili powder

  • and crushed red peppers

  • 1 can of whole tomatoes

  • a few elbow macaroni's or some spaghetti. Not too many though!

I like it hot!

I like to top it off by fixing a few crackers with peanut butter on them for dipping.

And that's what I love to eat on these frigid, winter nights!

New Years Resolutions | 2011

New Years Resolutions 2011

It's already January 21, 2011 and I just realized I haven't yet sat down and typed up my New Years Resolutions yet.

So here goes, this is my official list:

Top 20 New Years Resolutions

Have you made any New Years Resolutions yet? And if so, how are doing on keeping up with them so far?

Apple "Screws" Customers

Apple "Screws" Customers

Apparently last fall, Apples' technicians decided to do a secret switch out on the screws holding the new iPhone 4 intact, when they were brought in for servicing. Instead of simply replacing or re-using the regular screws, Apple is now inserting pentalobe screws. These pentalobe screws are different because they have five points instead of the common six point screws.

Buy a Pentalobe Screwdriver Kit on eBay

The reason seems to be only to keep the curious from tinkering with the insides and making any adjustments. And in my own opinion, it is to keep them in the top reigns of making money off. Of course they don't want tech savy John Doe to be able to fix his own phone if they stand to make a buck! Right?

The pentalobe screw is also used in other Apple products including the MacBook Air notebooks and the MacBook pro laptops.

Replacing iPhone 4 5-Point Pentalobe Screws by Walter Galan

I personally don't care which type of screws Apple wants to use. After all, they are the maker's of the product. I just would like to be told about the switch in some form or fashion. Do you care that Apple is switching out the screws?
