Seed Thief Spring 2014

Here is a seed thief caught in action in my garden of Spring 2014.
Love the old fence pole with barb wire in the background!
And when he/she noticed the camera he turns like nothing was happening. lol

Thanks to this little feller, we had to replant some corn rows here and there.

Blooming Magnolia Tree

2015 SPRING Very few flowery blooms still on tree after heavy rainfall
Yesterday, I was outback checking on my Magnolia tree right before the heavy rains started again.

Sadly, it is looking a bit on the rough side. It still has blooms here and there but nothing like normal.

Here's a photo from last spring. Note the huge difference even after thousands had fallen:

2014 Spring
I guess the recent heavy down pours have stripped it of it's normally large abundant, fragrance filled, beautiful showy flowers.

The flowers are usually so large that one is bigger than my hand.

Here's a close up from last year:

After the late Spring blooms fade away, along with that sweet welcoming smell, comes the lush green leaves that provide great shade:
Summer 2014
And that is when the hammock gets the most use.
Looks like that will be my favorite time to enjoy this Magnolia this year.

Do you have a Magnolia tree close by?

Comments Are My Reward | Award Free Blog

I am so happy and honored that people have considered my blog to be award worthy.  And especially happy that they have taken time out to nominate me for such awards.
But sadly I must decline.

It's not that I don't love getting these awards. It is the rules that come along with them.  I often feel pressured to "pass this award on" and to link back to ____"  It kind of makes me feel like I am caught up in a chain letter of such.

So for those simple reasons I am declaring my blog an Award Free Blog.  Please do not have hard feelings for this decision.  As I am grateful for anyone taking time to read, comment and sending me those awards.  It's just that I don't like the chain letter feeling.  So I must pass, but with a kind heart.

Comments are my reward!

I have used a Badge Generator to create this free badge below.  And also including an html link box below it if you too wish to designate your blog an award free blog.

My Creeping Creatures

Happy Saturday Ya'll!

I came out one morning to see a sad turtle getting cool in a shade on the concrete.

It was huge. Little did I know it was about to lay eggs.

It stayed there a few hours.

Later, it made it's way outback.

And up a bank where it stayed for hours and hours.
And it left an egg after it climbed away from the bank.
