Apple "Screws" Customers

Apple "Screws" Customers

Apparently last fall, Apples' technicians decided to do a secret switch out on the screws holding the new iPhone 4 intact, when they were brought in for servicing. Instead of simply replacing or re-using the regular screws, Apple is now inserting pentalobe screws. These pentalobe screws are different because they have five points instead of the common six point screws.

The reason seems to be only to keep the curious from tinkering with the insides and making any adjustments. And in my own opinion, it is to keep them in the top reigns of making money off. Of course they don't want tech savy John Doe to be able to fix his own phone if they stand to make a buck! Right?

The pentalobe screw is also used in other Apple products including the MacBook Air notebooks and the MacBook pro laptops.

I personally don't care which type of screws Apple wants to use. After all, they are the maker's of the product. I just would like to be told about the switch in some form or fashion. Do you care that Apple is switching out the screws?
