My Creeping Creatures

Happy Saturday Ya'll!

I came out one morning to see a sad turtle getting cool in a shade on the concrete.

It was huge. Little did I know it was about to lay eggs.

It stayed there a few hours.

Later, it made it's way outback.

And up a bank where it stayed for hours and hours.
And it left an egg after it climbed away from the bank.

Hi Mama Zen,
Thank you for stopping by. It was really cool trying to keep an eye on it. It'd stay there for hours and then I'd have to go hunt it down again. lol.

i'm not a fan of snapping turtles as they take our ducklings and snap the legs on our adult ducks, too, but we do have them in our pond. when i catch the females on land laying eggs, i get them into a plastic tub and transport them a mile down the road to a pond in a cattle field. :)

TexWisGirl, Yes I wouldn't want them around ducks or ducklings either. That's a good way to move the eggs. I thought the momma would stay with the eggs, but oddly I never saw her again around there.
