eBay Announcements | New Photo Rules

Are you an eBay seller? I am and have been for years. My seller name is CheapBlondeGirl http://myworld.ebay.com/cheapblondegirl/. I sell mainly vintage games and gaming consoles. And from time to time, the left overs of my craft supplies from my crafting blog http://booth555.com. But when auction fever strikes me and I buy boxes of stuff at estate sales, you never know what my listings will contain.

If you too are a seller, you may want to take note of their new picture quality requirements. This will be implemented in new and previous posts that are still up. Seems they are aiming at better photo requirements for those who view eBay through a mobile device. In which the screens are much smaller than the computer monitor. I understand this and think it's a great idea. As I too, am a frequent shopper on my cell phone from time to time.

New rules are as follows.
-The longest side of each photo must be at least 500 pixels
-No borders allowed around photo
-Photos must be free of added artwork and text. Meaning strictly the item itself in the photo. No photoshoping.
-And when listing any item other than books, movies, music, and video games you now cannot use the stock photo that eBay supplies as your main photo.

So if you are an eBay seller, please check your current listings. As eBay sent out this notice back in late 2012 but they are going to be enforced at the beginning of July 2013. I'm sure eBay won't ban you from selling for one mistake. But with the giant company, who really knows. It's best to comply with all rules as fast as you can. This way we steer clear of any rule breaking.

Phishing Email Alert | Eachbuyer.com

If anyone here is a member of eBay, please be cautious with your mail. This morning I received an email that looked legitimate. And as I've just purchased items Wednesday, I thought it was real at first. Instead of being from eBay it was from Eachbuyer.com.
But the more I read through the email and by them wanting me to "click here," and input my info, I realized it was too fishy to be real. So I reported it to eBay on their ANSWERS forum. And that's where I got the info that it is in fact a scam. I then was informed to forward the original email on to spoot@ebay.com, which i immediately done.

Ebay Sued for $30 Million for Overcharging Fees

Ebay Sued for $30 Million for Overcharging Final Value Fees

eBay is in the news again. But this time it's not for being the world's largest and best online marketplace, it's for overcharging their sellers for "final value fees."

eBay how could you? I've noticed the fee's were climbing, but dang!

The Details

A preliminary ruleing finds that eBay must pay $30 million in damages! The final hearing will take place on March 28, 2011 to determine the fairness of the ruleing in front of Honorable James Ware.

Initial charges were brought against eBay by plaintiffs Yingling and Scott. Yingling and Scott are individuals who are respresenting a vast majority of people, including sellers like you and mem who are known within the lawsuit as "Class Members."

Are You Affected?

Being a "Class Member" has been defined as anyone who paid "Final Value Fees" along with a listing fee in the category of “Parts & Accessories” on the eBay Motors website, in between April 21, 2005, and August 26, 2009. However, if you sold your item through the eBay "Store Inventory Format" you will not be included in this lawsuit.

Check Your Email

More than likely, if you are included in this lawsuit against eBay, you have been notified. Because eBays sales records were pulled and all qualifying salers were sent an email or snail mail package with a notice of the ebaymotorsfeeclassaction. So check your email inbox and spam folder to be sure!

Update Your Info!

You don't have to do anything but update your mailing information to recieve your portion of the settlement, if you qualify that is. You are urged to check & update your mailing address, if necessary at ebaymotorsfeeclassaction. And don't brush it off easy thinking yours is right. I have been a seller for like 8 years and when I checked just now, mine wasn't on file complete. So glad I checked! People who do not do so, or who have "undeliverable/uncashable checks" will have thier portion of the settlement donated to chairties or organizations approved by the court.

To update your info (or to simply check to be safe as I did), simply visit ebaymotorsfeeclassaction and click on the "How to Report a Change of Name or Address" link. There will be instructions on how to do so on the official page. Don't worry, I just updated mine, and it does not ask for personal info such as your eBay or Paypal passwords or such. You also have the option to call them specifically if you do not wish to update it online.

Ink

Ah shoot, I am out of printer ink! And right at the time when we need to print something. It never fails.

After reading a previous post from member here, I thought I'd go ahead and get a jumpstart printing some important papers out. But I clicked print and ......... blank sheets with dots of ink here and there is all thats comming out.

So, for the third time this year, I am re-ordering ink. I like to order it from eBay. I do not, however get the refilled cartridges! I do not like them!

I have a Canon Pixma MX300 all in one deal, printer,scanner/fax and I simply love it. It's not one of the best out on the market, by far. But it fits all my needs. I got it early last year and it still runs smooth as ever. That is except for the ink. But three replacements a year isn't all that bad. Considering that I do tend to print out oodles of stuff.

Like, for eBay, I use paypal and print out all of my own shipping lables with postage already on them. Saves me time at the post office. And I also print out all sales each month, with pie charts on eBay, so i can see what sold the best.

Anyways, I'm off to go find me some ink.

eBay Bucks Beta Program.....2% Back

Ebay Bucks.

Heard of it? What is it? Well, I have been a member of eBay for quite a few years now. It is my number one stop when shopping online. And in early 2009, I received an email from eBay inviting me to join their eBay Bucks Program, which is available by invitation only while in the beta stage.

eBay bucks basically is a program designed to point loyal users to eBay first when in need of a product. It lures them here by offering a rebate, so to say. Here's how it works. You shop at eBay, you earn 2% back on each qualifying purchase, then every three months, you receive your eBay Bucks certificate, as shown in the photo. You then have thirty days in which you can use your eBay bucks certificate to go towards any future purchase.

I know the 2% doesn't sound that great. But at least it is something. I don't try to get on eBay just to earn the eBay bucks, that would be crazy. It is just basically for the everyday shoppers, like myself, to keep us coming back. And for me, it's working!

Once the beta testing for eBay bucks ends, they will hopefully extend this program to all eBay users.
