What was your most memorable gift as a child?

What was your most memorable gift you recieved as a child? Whether at Christmas time or another occassion.

My all time favorite Christmas gift ever has to have been when Santa left me a little red tricycle. I believe I was maybe around 5 years old or so. It had those little tassels on the ends of the handles. And I thought that made it super cool. For whatever reason.

I loved it. That is, until one day I left it parked behind my mom's car and she ran over it. But I still remember it being oodles of fun before it was crushed. lol.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

"A Trip Down Memory Lane"

Photos from the Past

This is me at Christmas somewhere around 1983 or 1984.

My favorite toys that year was the red head doll, and a jewelry box that wound up on the bottom to play music. That is the year I got my first baby diamond ring from my aunt Joyce. And I had it in that jewelry box for many many years.

Join in on my trip down Memory Lane!

Post a photo of you at Christmas or the Holidays as a child and leave us a link to it.

Me at Christmas in 1983

My all time favorite Christmas Memory!

My All Time Favorite Christmas Memory!

My all time favorite holiday memory has to be when my Mom dissed my new boyfriend.A few weeks before Christmas, it was snowing so hard. We had around 6 or 7 inches or more on the ground already.

My mother had just gotten home from having eye surgery due to cancer. My new boyfriend at the time (who shall remain nameless- FOREVER!), was there visiting & asking her if she needed anything.

She said, "Yes, I know I could eat some Long John Silver's food." (was her favorite place to eat.)
Anyway, he tracked out in the snow, drove 45 minutes away, (on a snowless day that is), so probably like an hour and a half then, and came back with a Long John dinner for her.
She looked him right in the face and just said something like, Ah, I don't really want that! And didn't even take it. She went on all about her business.

He had a blank stare like dang, all that for nothing.

A few weeks later, we opened gifts and she had spent extra on him for his kindness. It was a full outfit, including his favorite Levi jeans & long sleeve western type shirt. Because he was a horse trainer, he loved that type of clothing.

Even though she was rude at the time, due to medicine. lol. Then he got to reep his rewards so to speak, in the end. lol.

Memories..Priceless (Poem by my Aunt Wilma..I added a pic to post it)

This is a poem by my aunt Wilma. She posts her poems here at Gather also. I took her poem and inserted it under an old family photo of her sisters, Brenda and Joyce and two cousins, Roma and Ora'Lee in the older days.

An old 2007 blog post

I was going through my photobucket account pics and ran across this old blog post I had from the winter of 2007. This was back when yahoo had the cool 360* or so I thought was cool. lol. I wander, did it really ever shut down? I think it did. I know I don't go there anymore. O well, just thought this blog post was pretty and all wintery and wanted to share it. And mostly to keep it in my memories for a few more years. Wow. How the years have flown by. Look at me up in the corner, that was about 3 years ago. lol.
